Our bulletproof backpack insert protects you against all handgun threats up to a .44 Magnum. OPX-ELITE bulletproof backpack insert is the ONLY soft armor insert in the market that stops FNH 5.7x28mm GREEN TIP, LAW ENFORCEMENT AMMO, (SS198LF) at point-blank range.
The backpack ballistic insert is TSA approved, and consists of hybrid configuration layers of DuPont™ Kevlar® KM2+ in conjunction with layers of Uni-Directional UHMWPE, resulting in the following ballistic performance:
- V50 ballistic limit for .44 Mag: 1804 ft/s
- Average Backface Signature (BFS): 36 mm
- Areal Density: 1.18 lb/sq ft
- Thickness: 0.29" inch (Only the armor insert without its Cordura 1000D sleeve)

ALWAYS REMOVE THE BALLISTIC PANEL INSERTS AND FRONT ZIPPER ATTACHMENTS BEFORE WASHING THE CARRIER (VEST)
Care instruction for the ballistic panels of the Vest
1) The panel must be properly placed into the outer carrier
2) The panel must not be permitted to be excessively wet.
3) The panel must not be subjected to excessive heat.
4) The panel must be properly stored (i.e., not in excessively hot or damp conditions)
Care instruction for the Carrier (Vest)
1) Machine wash normal
2) Do not bleach
3) Tumble dry low
4) Do not iron
Care instruction for Backpack and SAPI insert panels covered by CORDURA fabric
Our ballistic panel inserts are covered with a high-performance 1000D CORDURA which is a Nylon-based fabric. For cleaning purposes, CORDURA fabric can be gently sprayed with a non-Chlorine or bleach-based cleaners. Simply use two teaspoons of Dawn hand dish soap (NOT antibacterial) and mix it with one quart of water in a spray bottle. Now you should directly spray the soapy water solution that you made on the ballistic insert's cover (CORDURA) and quickly wipe it with a clean and dry cloth.

I've put my OPX Elite Soft Backpack Armor IIIA in my "get home bag". It weighed about 40 lbs before adding the armor pad. Was glad it was so light. Fit neatly into the compartment closest to my back and did not increase my exertion/ persperation. Hopefully, will never need it but it gives me some peace of mind knowing it is there covering my back.
OMNIPROTEX has beyond comparible quality. I purchased two, one for each of my children to give me more peace of mind while they are at school. It fit their backpacks perfectly and is so light wait they couldn't tell the difference and it doesn't take up room for their books. And the price is unbeatable!
Had 9mm, 22LR, 5.56 and 223 to test at the range and the IIIA+ plate stopped the 9mm and 22LR perfectly even though it did not stop the 223 or 556 rounds (it was not expected to). But even with a few holes from the 223 and 556, the rest of the plate stopped the 9mm and 22LR rounds perfectly
It’s light and fits well.
Fits perfect in my computer backpack and is a relief knowing it is there!
